Safety First !! For Divers : please be aware not to disturb established habitats even if made from manmade debris ... bring gloves and a catch bag for the rubbish and be vary careful not to pick up anything where a blue ring octopus can hide .... For the surface : SLIP SLOP SLAP ... translation. Coverup, bring sunscreen and a hat. Also bring some water. Fun stuff. This is a lovely park with green grass, BBQ's toilets and parking, it accesses a lovely part of the beach at Coogee and the Ammo Jetty which is active jetty where you will always find fishermen ( hence the debris!)

12-13 October 2012 - WA Beach Clean up Day, Busselton.  Pat Swallow has been running this in association with Tangaroa Blue for a number of years.  Its always a great weekend which includes a beach or jetty cleanup and a dive on the Swan.

FISHWATCH

Have you seen anything recently that you thought was suspicious involving fish or fishing, or that might be some sort of illegal fishing activity? This could include things like someone netting in the river, exceeding their bag or possession limits, taking undersized fish, fishing in a closed area or having more fishing gear in the water than they should.

If you answered 'yes' to any of the above, please contact the Department of Fisheries on its 24-hour FISHWATCH number:

We need you to keep an eye out for the 12 species described in this field guide. If you think you have seen one, please contact the Department of Fisheries's FISHWATCH service on 1800-815-507 to report your sighting. If you see a marine plant or animal which is not included in this field guide, but which you think may be an introduced species, we would also like you to report the sighting. Your contribution in monitoring our coastline is invaluable.
