Luca's Legacy – October 2021

This annual event commenced in 2019 following the death of a dolphin called Luca who was entangled in discarded fishing line in the Mandurah Estuary.  The clean-up removes approximately 600 to 700kg of rubbish from the water and surrounding land.  Members of the UECWA along with MUD divers came together to perform the underwater clean-up part for the event, and successfully removed large amounts of rubbish.  A number of members and friends also helped with the on land coordination and clean up.  Thanks to all who took part in the clean-up and helped make our waters safer for all wildlife.
