Julie's Cave & Crystal Palace. Rottnest Swim drop off and pick up
Time & Location
About the Event
Book on if you would like to be dropped off at Rotto for the swim.
Divers, while we are doing two great dives we will also be using our residual air to do some community relations work by cleaning the plinths at the Little Salmon Snorkel Trail. It's always good to have RIA onside. It is very shallow and not too arduous.
Julies Cave: Recently re-discovered by Mike Bucanan. It is a unique site... a large flat rock shelf 3-4m below the surface shields the entrance to Julie's Cave, which has two levels (one above the other) - both of which penetrate the reef for around 50m. The lower level is quite wide and flat with a sandy bottom while the upper level, although smaller and narrower, is large enough to swim through comfortably. Both entrances provide plenty of light . The area surrounding is also highly attractive, containing many lovely gullies and swim-throughs to explore.
Crystal Palace: A truly spectacular dive site consisting of an array of caves, holes and swim-throughs... this is the site where you are most likely to see just about every species of fish you are likely to encounter around Rottnest - all in the 1 dive! The site covers around 6-800m of awesome reef, which will excite even the most experienced diver.
