Dive Report - Sunday 22nd September

Beautiful day for 10 divers to head over to the west end of Rottnest. We left on time with 2 nom divers on board. Carl expertly took us to crayfish canyon, one of my favourite dive sites.

Carl dropped the anchor perfectly and the divers hit the water. Visibility was great at about 25 meters. All reported a great dive and a good number of crayfish asked for a trip back to the mainland.

Second dive was at servant's quarters and again a lovely dive, Neng spotted and videoed a beautiful blue grouper.

The boat ran very well and being a lot quieter than the previous motor, makes for a more pleasant trip.

Dive Report - Monday 23rd September

Happy birthday Liz Davey!  The birthday girl chose Victoria Station at Roe Reef for the days dive.  We had an early start and had the 8 divers in the water by 0900.  That is thanks to the newly refurbished vessel which did 18 knot at 2600 rpm and got us to Roe Reef in 45 minutes (only used 70 L fuel round trip).  The diving reportedly had good visibility and good conditions despite the southerly wind.  The vessel performed beyond my expectations and the autopilot was excellent.  Thanks to Donna for DO-ing even though she is off to do some epic diving this week in some exotic place.  Special thanks to Liz and Chris M. who assisted with refueling and putting the vessel to bed.  Liz and Mel held a birthday party on the vessel once we were back with champagne and cake!   

When I left Chris M and John D were working their way through the new electronics to set up the fuel log and synchronise the Raymarine and tablet.  It was a great day out and it's great to be back on the water with the club on the newly refurbished Cape Cruiser!

Important Information for Dive Bookings

All members who have paid their fees for the year 2024/2025 should be able to access the dive calendar on the new website and mobile app. Please Contact Us if you are having any issues.

If you would like notice of dive cancellations during our peak periods, then please contact Donna at divebookings@uecwa.com.au with your name and phone number to be added to a WhatsApp group.

Cancelling a Dive Ahead of Time

Important to note that you cannot cancel dives using the dive calendar. Cancellation needs to be by email directly to Donna at divebookings@uecwa.com.au

Please note our cancellation policy below as per the club bylaws:

Cancellations between 07:45 and 16:00 the day before: 50% cancellation fee.

Cancellations after 16:00 the day before: 100% cancellation fee.

No-shows: Full event fee.

Appeals for waivers due to medical reasons or family emergencies can be submitted in writing to the committee.
