Upcoming Dives
Dive Report - Sunday 16th March
With the loss of diving due to weather on Saturday the boat was full with 14 divers and three crew took off at the usual time on Sunday. While it was a rough trip out and home from Rottnest, we managed to find two sheltered places to dive. The first dive was at Honeycombs, which was a spot Mike found while on one of his trips on his scooter, and we decided to explore it further. It didn’t disappoint at all and all the divers came back with reports of lovely caves, plenty of holes and a good number of crayfish (15 were caught all up). Divers were also very enthusiastic about the amount of fish life at this site including a large blue grouper and large schools of different fish.
The second dive was at City Of York and was a pleasant dive as always. Nothing particularly exciting and no sharks this time.
Thanks to Chris McCoppin for skippering and Will as trainee DO. Thanks also to crew for refuelling the boat in readiness for the Rottnest Pilgrimage next weekend.

Last Minute Offers for the Annual Rotto Pilgrimage!
The UEC Annual Rotto Pilgrimage is just around the corner, taking place from March 22nd to 29th, and we’ve got some exciting last-minute opportunities for you to join the adventure!
1. Join Us for a Day on the Boat
If you can’t commit to the entire week, don’t worry – there’s still room for you to join us for a day trip! All you need to do is make your way to Thompsons Bay, Rottnest with your gear by 8:30 am, and you’ll be diving with us for the day.

2. One Bed Available in the North Thompsons Chalet (March 26th–29th)
Want a more immersive experience? There’s one bed available in the North Thompsons Chalet for March 26th to March 29th, which includes two daily 2-tank dives and air fills.

2025 Dive Trips - Spots Available

9th - 16th July: Halmahera Liveaboard - $4160 AUD (subject to exchange rates)
An 8-day liveaboard to Halmahera, Indonesia, with only 13 spots available. The boat is newly commissioned, and no breakdowns are expected. Bookings open now. Please email Donna.
19th - 25th August: Derawan Island - $2470 AUD (subject to exchange rates)
7 days with 3 dives per day, all meals and accommodation included. There are only 15 spots available. Bookings open now. A $340 deposit is due by 30th April. Priority bookings for club members until 28th Feb. Final payment is due on 30th May.
Important Information for Dive Bookings
All members should have access to the dive calendar on the website and mobile app. If you're experiencing any issues, please don’t hesitate to Contact Us for assistance.
Please do not book dives for other divers. If we receive double bookings from one diver, the second booking will be automatically cancelled.
If you would like to receive notifications about dive cancellations during peak periods, please email Donna at divebookings@uecwa.com.au with your name and phone number to be added to the WhatsApp group.
Guests on the Boat
A reminder: For all boat trips (including Christmas lights), UEC members must be on the boat with any guests booked under their membership.
Cancelling a Dive Ahead of Time
Important to note that you cannot cancel dives using the dive calendar. Cancellation needs to be by email directly to Donna at divebookings@uecwa.com.au
Please note our cancellation policy below as per the club bylaws:
Cancellations between 07:45 and 16:00 the day before: 50% cancellation fee.
Cancellations after 16:00 the day before: 100% cancellation fee.
No-shows: Full event fee.
Appeals for waivers due to medical reasons or family emergencies can be submitted in writing to the committee.
