Clear skies, calm water, and long, gentle swells made for perfect conditions, surprising everyone on the boat. Visibility was excellent from the moment we dropped in, and the sunshine filtering through the surface lit up the reef below, setting the tone for an unforgettable day underwater. Our first dive took us through Marjorie’s Pinnacle Cave, a favourite for its unknown but awesome reef holes and ledges packed with crays. Jono and Jeff hopped in and caught dinner for themselves too during the interval. The second dive at The Basin was just as rewarding, with vibrant marine life and plenty of structure to explore. In total, the team caught 21 crayfish, adding a successful haul to an already exceptional day. A fantastic pair of dives in conditions far better than anyone expected. A bit of a choppy ride home but definitely worth getting out of bed for! Jonathan Anderson Dive Report - Sunday 30th November
Photo credit - Martin Crossley Headed out of the Marina at 8am with 10 divers onboard, the first stop should have been shark cave but with current conditions we chose to change it to the hanger. All divers in the water safely. Hebba had a small issue with her weight belt so had to jump back on the boat to sort it out, moving her weights to her BCD pockets then off she went. All divers back on the boat all safe and sound, a nice area to dive with a Port Jackson seen and plenty of the usual fish. We headed into Eagle Bay for a spot of lunch, then off to Servant’s Quarters for the second dive. Once again, all the divers in water safely, viz was very good from the boat. Reports of the swell being up under the water and two grey nurse sharks seen in Servant’s Quarters but not by everyone. All in all, a good second dive with plenty of smiling. Will Glendon Christmas Island - August 2026
We’re off to Christmas Island next August, and bookings are now open! Join the Underwater Explorers Club WA for an unforgettable week of diving in one of the Indian Ocean’s most spectacular destinations. Expect pristine reefs, warm tropical waters, and encounters with everything from schooling fish and turtles to majestic mantas. Spaces are limited and going fast, so don’t wait too long to secure your spot – this is one dive adventure you won’t want to miss! Sundowner, January 10th 2026
Come join the Underwater Explorers Club WA for a laid-back “It’s not Christmas, but it IS New Year” Sundowner at The Shoe Bar, Yagan Square on Saturday, 10th January, from 3–5pm. We’ve booked a cosy inside spot for the club, so swing by for a relaxed afternoon catch-up with fellow divers — share a few laughs, swap some dive stories (the taller, the better!), and toast to the year ahead. The Shoe is right by Perth Underground and just a short stroll from Elizabeth Quay Station, so getting there’s a breeze. The vibe’s always great, the drinks are cold, and the company’s even better. Whether you’ve been part of the club for years or are brand new to the crew, this is your chance to unwind, reconnect, and help us kick off what might just become a new UEC tradition. No wetsuit required — just bring your sunny self! Mandurah Dives, Next Week!
We’re almost there! Our Mandurah festive dive weekend is just around the corner — and there are only a handful of spots left! From Friday, December 12th to Monday, December 15th, we’ll be back aboard Cape Cruiser for double dive days exploring Mandurah’s favourite sites, followed by our much-loved evening canal cruises to take in all the dazzling Christmas light displays. The canal cruises are family-friendly, so feel free to bring the kids, the tinsel, and your finest (or worst) Christmas jokes. Santa hats still optional — dive gear still essential. If you’ve been thinking about joining us, now’s the time! These last spots won’t last long. Events are on the calendar — jump in before they’re gone! Important Information for Dive Bookings
