Cocos Keeling Islands Clean Up – July 2021

 

A team of divers from the UECWA were lucky enough to go on a week-long adventure to Cocos Keeling Islands in July 2021.  Just following the last COVID lockdown in Western Australia, the group were fortunate enough to be allowed onto this unique island that is part of the Western Australian Indian Ocean Territories. 

 

The club has a long-standing culture of giving back to the environment.  In the spirit of the club the environmental officer organised a clean-up crew and along with some of the adventurers from the club participated in a clean-up of a section of the northern beaches of West Island.
